Distributor Widget has taken stock of two new TomTom products designed exclusively for the B2B channel.
The distributor will offer two TomTom GPS products exclusively to B2B resellers, which it said would stop customers shopping around for the same product online and undercutting its resellers.
Products pitched at both consumers and businesses can see the reseller cut out of the loop by a low-cost retailer at the eleventh hour, and Widget founder Mark Needham said today's announcement is designed to combat this issue.
"Not only are the range of features and benefits built into the [new TomTom] products tailored to the needs of the business user, but the products will be sold, though Widget UK, only to approved B2B resellers who will thus be able to make sales," he said.
The VIA Business and GO Business TomTom GPS products will both include a full three-year manufacturer's warranty and will not be available through consumer channels.
"We want to make sure that the guys who do the digging get the gold. We want to minimise any possibility of channel conflict," Needham said, adding that resellers can be safe in the knowledge that they will not be undercut by retail competitors.
