KCOM Group has enlisted a new CIO to help upgrade its systems.
Steve Humm joins the Hull-based comms provider from HP, where he was a director in application services.
Humm, who will be responsible for planning and delivering the firm's IT and comms strategy, has also been the UK CIO of O2 and CTO of Sunderland Football Club.
KCOM Group CFO Paul Simpson said it was important for a firm providing IT comms to draw on the power of technology itself.
"Our planned programme to upgrade our systems, designed to ensure that we can continue to look after our clients in the best possible way, will be a major factor in our future success," he added.
"I am delighted to welcome Steve to the company and that as CIO he will lead the design and implementation of the plan. He brings with him to KCOM extensive and highly relevant industry experience and I am sure he will make a big contribution to the team."
