Distributor Gem has named Danielle Barker as its new category manager for consumer electronics.
Gem's CE division is expanding rapidly, according to the firm, and the role is a new one aimed at fostering this growth.
Barker (pictured), who brings experience from roles at ACCO Brands, Dixons Retail and Computers Unlimited, will report to head of category Jon Sutherland.
"The key will be to support the growth of CE by delivering new, innovative products with differentiation that will work well for retail, but also to offer support to the wider divisions within Gem to ensure these products are a success in the channel," Sutherland said.
"Barker's knowledge and experience has already made a tremendous impact in the short time she has been with us."
Barker will help grow sales of brands such as Roku, Otone and SOL Republic, working with sales, purchasing and marketing to maximise vendor opportunities and explore new ones.
