Tech Data Europe and Google have signed an agreement which will see the distributor manage the channel for its Chromecast media streaming technology.
As a result of the deal, Tech Data Mobile Solutions will provide complete fulfilment services across the region, including logistics, transportation management, forecasting, procurement consolidation, inventory management, invoicing and collection.
Chromecast (pictured) went on sale in the UK, Germay, France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland on 19 March and allows people to enjoy online content such as movies, music and YouTube videos through their TV using an HDMI port.
Rod Millar, senior vice president of Tech Data Mobile Solutions, said: "We are pleased to be selected by Google to manage its end-to-end supply chain operations and distribution of Chromecast throughout Europe.
“Along with leading mobile solutions and enablement services, Tech Data Mobile Solutions has the commercial and operational relationships with key retailers that provide Google with a centralised pan-European approach. Together, we will provide authorised retailers the highest levels of expertise and service.”
As part of the agreement, the distributor has created a dedicated central account management team and a range of services, including forecasting, procurement and supply chain reporting that can be managed through a single operational interface.
