Finance provider Syscap claims it has snared 30 new IT reseller and ISV clients in the last quarter and that use of leasing and financing in the channel is booming.
Wireless specialist APC Solutions, cloud player Outsourcery and CAD software providers Desktop Engineering and Concurrent Engineering are among the gang of new recruits joining Syscap's existing base of 250 UK partners.
Syscap argued the expansion signals that channel firms are choosing finance to make investments in cloud and subscription-based services, and to expand their customer base by offering more flexible payment options.
Some of the new sign-ups are using Syscap's Support Funder product to finance services and support alongside traditional IT assets, said the firm, which was recently taken over by mutual financial services outfit Wesleyan.
Philip White (pictured), managing director of Syscap, said: "We've been helping companies invest in technology for 25 years now but have seen a sharp increase recently in the number of IT providers needing more flexibility as they change their own business model to a subscription base or need to help their customers reinvest in IT to innovate and grow. We allow them to collect cash upfront while removing the overhead of monthly billing which we take on."
Syscap's proclamations are supported by the latest figures from the UK Finance and Leasing Association, which indicate the IT equipment finance market was worth £1.85bn in the 12 months to April 30, up 22 per cent year on year.
