Former Comparex UK boss Mike Chambers is soon to pop up at Bytes, leading from a new Watford office.
Chambers (pictured) left Comparex in the summer as the firm forges ahead with its shared services strategy, which has seen a number of business functions moved to a large shared centre in Germany.
Next month, Chambers is set to join Microsoft licensing specialist Bytes as a director, reporting into boss Neil Murphy, and charged with leading a dedicated business unit from Watford.
The new base will be home to up to 40 staff in total and will help Bytes better address the north London and Midlands market, Murphy told CRN.
"We're bringing Mike on board to help with the expansion of our operations in line with our longer-term goal to double the size of the business," he said. "He brings additional talent that will complement the existing management team."
Bytes will be in good channel company in Watford - Misco is planning to open an office there, and RedPixie has a base there too.
