Northamber has signed on the dotted line as a UK distributor for server and storage vendor SuperMicro, to help it build a footprint in the SMB and education sectors.
The distributor claims it will become one of SuperMicro's "largest-reaching" UK distributors, offering the vendor's portfolio to its 5,500-strong reseller base.
Alex Phillips, director of strategy at Northamber, said: "Northamber is elated to add SuperMicro, 18th on Fortune's Top 100 Fastest Growing Companies, to our server and storage division.
"This revitalises Northamber's position in the UK as the server and storage destination for customers of all sizes. The disruptive nature of SuperMicro brings another high-margin offering to Northamber resellers which will be a real opportunity as we move into 2017."
According to the SuperMicro website, the vendor is currently distributed in the UK by Avnet, Boston, Hammer and Microtronica.
Dev Tyagi, EMEA managing director of SuperMicro, said: "Northamber and its reseller base represent an important segment of this channel, making it a good choice for SuperMicro to work with.
"The company is long established and has the right attitude to deliver and service solutions while maintaining a solid integrity.
"Our solutions or reference architectures for storage like IBM Spectrum Accelerate, Nexenta Edge and VSAN are typical examples where we see Northamber focusing its attention."
