Fujitsu has added Midwich as a fourth UK distributor for its document scanners.
Diss-based Midwich will work alongside incumbents Northamber, Tech Data and Westcoast, carrying Fujitsu's full range of hardware and software products in the product area.
In emailed correspondence, Lee Michigan, Fujitsu country manager UK, claimed that the Japanese vendor is the market leader in the manufacture and sale of scanners globally, adding that the UK market is worth around £25m.
He pinpointed education and legal as among the growth hotpots, adding that Fujitsu "continues to be strong within the public sector space".
"Partnering with Midwich helps us to address some new market areas that we are very keen to work in. Their combined hardware and software knowledge and partners within this space will give us access to exciting new opportunities," he said.
In a statement, Stuart Mizon, divisional director at Midwich added: "Our new relationship with Fujitsu creates opportunities to forge new routes to market for both parties. Our commitment to our existing partners remains critical to the future of our business. We believe this new relationship will make Midwich the first choice for document and scan solution products."
