Career so far I started business life as a lawyer, before deciding I wanted to have a more interesting life.
Do you care about green IT? While I think the IT industry needs to consider its environmental impact, like every industry, the green issues do not really affect data security.
If you could be in a rock/pop band, which one would it be and who would you be? Probably the drummer in U2 – all the benefits of the business, but no one knows who you are! You could happily wander down a high street, or go to a bar and get no attention.
What is the best corporate jolly you have ever been on/taken partners on? This July we took about 15 guests out on the Solent in Honda Powerboats. The water was quite calm when we started but finished with 6ft swells, which made sure everyone was soaked and battered, but had great day out. The day ended with an excellent meal and too much red wine!
Has 2009 been as bad as everyone said it would be? I think 2009 has been a lot tougher than a lot of people have owned up to! I hope the New Year will see enterprises start new projects.
Have any of your predictions come true this year? No, my only prediction was a lot more businesses would go out of business in our sector. People have hung on pretty well.
What do you see as the channel’s biggest challenge in 2010? I think we could see more of the same, with business not buying anything unless absolutely necessary. We all need to see the recession end and the sooner the better!
What is the best part of your day? All parts of the day have their good points – waking up is a good start!
