If you could be anyone else for a week, who would you be and what would you do? It would be fascinating to be Larry Ellison at Oracle. I could spend the week slating all my competitors and then hiring their staff.
What would you have as your last meal? Some form of steak I would think, ideally from a restaurant I know in Houston, which is particularly good.
What is the best corporate jolly you have ever been on/taken partners on? Our annual sales conference in Las Vegas is now in its 7th year. Last year we took more than 60 people and it was completely mad.
Do you see the cloud as a threat or an opportunity? An opportunity – it’s a new revenue stream, with a large services element.
Have any of your predictions come true this year? Not that I can think of. I again predicted that Newcastle would be completely rubbish, but they somehow won the league and got promoted. That said, they are back to being rubbish again.
What do you see as the channel’s biggest challenge in 2011? Hardware vendors continuing to increase their focus on directly delivered services revenue.
What is the best part of your day? My answer last year involved waking up. Having now spent 12 months with my daughter, this year it has to be, getting into bed.
