Career so far I started off with a vendor, moved into distribution and eventually moved on to Ingram Micro where I have been for the last 15 years working in the UK, Europe, Australia, Asia and now back again in the UK.

If you could be anyone else for a week, who would you be and what would you do? The prime minister and I would rework the new income tax schemes introduced this year.

What would you have as your last meal? A nice thick steak.

What is the best corporate jolly you have ever been on/taken partners on? Fiji with Toshiba (while in Australia). It’s a tiny island surrounded by coral reefs and exotic wildlife. Not a bad place to spend a few days.

Do you see the cloud as a threat or an opportunity? Opportunity. Gradually the industry will get more used to trusting its data to outside bodies and the channel can take advantage of how the cloud can bring together hardware, ISVs and applications.

Have any of your predictions come true this year? I predicted that the IT industry would grow at a faster rate than analysts were predicting.

What do you see as the channel’s biggest challenge in 2011? Profitable growth and credit.

What is the best part of your day? Early morning.
