Engagement manager, CompTIA

What achievement are you most proud of?

Taking a year out and funding myself to travel the world without having to work.

What has been the biggest change in the channel since you started working in it?

The adoption of cloud.

What three things could you not live without?
1. Music - it soothes the soul. 2. Holidays - I love to explore and feel the sun on my back. 3. My sense of humour - if it's laugh or cry I'd definitely rather laugh.

What has been your most embarrassing moment so far?

Walking through central London with a client and being told by a stranger that my dress was caught up by my rucksack and everybody could see my underwear.

What do your family think you do all day?

Nothing! As I work from home they seem to think that means I don't have to do any work. In fact, I believe I work harder at home as there isn't anybody to talk to while the kettle is boiling.

Who is your ultimate celeb crush?

For years it was George Michael but I guess I should update it now so I'll say Bradley Cooper instead.

What is your guilty pleasure?

An ice-cold bottle of Magner's in the sunshine.

What would be your first act if you were made Prime Minister?

I'd make politics more interesting and fun - to get more people involved.

Has 2015 been a good, bad or ugly year?

It's been a great year. The CompTIA UK team has gone from strength to strength and we've really seen increased traction regards member engagement.

If you didn't work in the IT channel, what would you do?

I'd write comedy and use the money to help abused animals.

What major issues will the channel face in 2016?

Many conversations I have with solution providers, vendors and distributors revolve around the issue of staff. They all report difficulties in recruiting and retaining people with the right skills. To help address this, CompTIA is working hard to encourage more women into IT with its Advancing Women in IT community and is also helping to place apprentices.
