Managing director, CDW UK
What is your greatest career move to date?
I've only ever made one. Joining 10 people at Kelway 18 years ago turned out OK.
What is top of your bucket list?
I still think I'd like to go to space one day (actual space, not the soon-to-close Ibiza nightclub!).
What has changed most since you started working in the channel?
We often laugh about the products we used to sell and the prices they used to fetch. I remember selling 3x Iomega Zip disks for £250.
How do you think Brexit is going to affect the channel?
Different organisations will be affected in different ways. That said, the UK channel is exceedingly resilient and I'm sure we will all find a way to make the best of it.
What is your least favourite task during the working day?
Getting out of bed.
If you were an animal, what would you be?
A ridiculous question deserves a ridiculous answer: a Wunderpus photogenicus. That's what Google says is the best real animal name.
If you won the big one on EuroMillions, what would you do?
Probably nothing different to what I'm doing now.
What is your worst habit?
I tend to get temporarily obsessed with things like food/restaurants/games but then suddenly quit them as quickly as I started. In the summer I must have been to the same restaurant six times in a month but I haven't been back since.
How has 2016 been for you?
It has been a lot of fun. Professionally we are just having a good time growing the business and at home my two daughters continually make me laugh.
If you didn't work in the IT channel, what would be your dream career?
It would still have to be Newcastle United-based. Not the manager anymore though as Rafa is doing such a good job.
What major issues will the channel face in 2017?
It's hard to look past Brexit. I still think this will have a bigger impact than many people anticipate.
