What has been your highlight of 2018 so far?
Of course, joining DCC but I rather enjoyed seeing my boy play international rugby for Wales U18 too.
Who would play you in the film of your life?
Morgan Freeman or possibly Idris Elba - obvs!
Which tech firm (other than your own!) do you most admire?
Dell EMC. Personal knowledge and experience of their journey gives one a unique insight. I am sure if I knew others as well the decision would be harder.
What is your guiltiest pleasure?
It's guilty and staying in my head.
What is the most irritating tech buzzphrase of 2018?
Everything ‘aaS'.
What would be your first act if you were made Prime Minister?
Move in to No 10! Seriously, I'd focus on STEM education - eliminate university fees, elevate the status of the profession and remove the administrative burden on teachers. Then I'd get after homelessness and women's equality.
What's the biggest untapped opportunity facing the channel?
Tomorrow.
What is your most treasured possession?
My health. One doesn't own families, but they're treasured above all.
What do your family think you do all day?
Talk and boss people around.
Who has been your mentor in business?
I have stolen remorselessly from a host of managers, customers and stakeholders and so I have a virtual mentor who is a conglomerate, an avatar… of all those influencers who act as my collective conscience
