Managing director, Infinigate UK

Tell us something most people won't know about you

I am a director at the London Acorn School, a low tech school that develops children holistically and has an emphasis on creativity and emotional well-being along with academic development.

What has been your highlight of 2018 so far?

It is hard to pin down a specific event, as it is a huge privilege to work with my team and there are many highlights to celebrate. We genuinely support and encourage the best from each other. Working for a team with this attitude is my overall highlight.

Who would play you in the film of your life?

Patrick Stewart would be my first choice. I doubt I would be his.

Which tech firm (other than your own!) do you most admire?

It is hard to overlook Amazon and not only for AWS. It has understood the market direction so well time and time again and mastered how to take advantage of the key trends in how we work and play. The impact of Amazon across multiple sectors is very impressive.

What is your guiltiest pleasure?

I like to play computer games to relax.

What is the most irritating tech buzzphrase of 2018?

The ‘cool' buzzwords that come in cycles from across the Atlantic - and how they seem to spread like wildfire among sales people here - are pretty irritating. ‘Cadence' is currently at the top of my most annoying list.

What would be your first act if you were made Prime Minister?

To have a second referendum on Brexit. Theresa May's statement that it would be undemocratic to do so is wrong in my view; people should have the choice to vote once we have a final deal on offer. What could be more democratic than that?

What's the biggest untapped opportunity facing the channel?

Accelerating cloud adoption by customers is the most significant trend for our channel to consider. Many partners still need to think through their strategy properly and strengthen their value proposition to take advantage of this trend (and mitigate the potential risk to their traditional business).

What is your most treasured possession?

My sanity. Although at times I do wonder…

What do your family think you do all day?

Help save the world from baddies… well, that is what my five-year-old boy thinks anyway.

Who has been your mentor in business?

I have the privilege of working closely with a world-class mentor who has had a significant impact on my personal development and that of our team. For data protection reasons he/she will remain anonymous.
