PROMOTIONAL VIDEO: Westcoast Cook-Along

Distributor Westcoast has produced this video urging the channel to cook and eat more healthy meals

Westcoast has taken the traditional health kick to a new level with its Westcoast Health web site.

The distributor has teamed up with former Jamie Oliver apprentice Tim Siadatan to encourage the channel to 'learn a recipe and pass it on'.

Siadatan teaches a Westcoast employee how to make the old British favourite - a beefburger - and he then passes the recipe on to his colleagues.

As a Westcoast statement explains, the concept is based on Jamie Oliver's 'pass it on' movement. The theory is one person learning to cook a simple recipe will then teach the techniques to at least four other people.

If this cycle is repeated eight times there would be enough new cooks to fill Wembley Stadium. Repeated 13 times and it would mean the entire population of Britain cooking healthy food.

Another initiative the distributor is pioneering is the Westcoast Challenge - a 10km run taking place in July 2009.

The Cook-Along video was produced by Westcoast without the involvement of CRN's editorial team.
