At a recent CRN On event in central London entitled Prioritising Profits with Purpose to Deliver ESG Success, delegates were asked a range of questions about their own ESG journeys which can now be seen in this short event roundup video.

Because we are running out of time to save the planet for future generations, an Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy is fast becoming a must have for businesses of all sizes, and is also shaping how end user customers deal with their suppliers.

Understandably, many firms find getting started on their ESG journey a challenge, and below we share five top takeaways from the CRN event in association with Agilitas, that will hopefully demonstrate how putting people, process and the planet at the heart of your business will not break the bank, but can actually improve your bottom line.

  1. BCorps are growing 17 times faster than non BCorps, and with ESG funds doubling in the four years to 2020 and again in 2021, the strategy is on a fast upward trajectory.
  2. Companies with a comprehensive Diversity, Equality and Inclusion (DEI) strategy can earn 2.5 times higher cashflow than non-diverse companies.
  3. A significant 71 per cent of CIOs, IT decision makers and IT directors questioned in exclusive CRN research, said ESG was either a 'fairly high' or 'extremely high' priority for their business.
  4. You don't have to do everything at once when starting your ESG journey, and it doesn't have to cost a fortune either. Set realistic, affordable and achievable goals and make sure you take your employees on the journey with you and get them involved.
  5. End user customers want their technology supply chain to do more to reduce emissions. It is vital that all parts of the supply chain communicate properly, including sharing where materials are coming from and what they are doing with their employees to address sustainability. The problem can only be solved by working together.
