Eidos

Eidos has reported a 64 per cent rise in profit to #51.3 million for the third quarter ended 31 December 1998, on turnover up by 50 per cent, climbing to #121.5 million. In the nine-month period, pre-tax profit was up 149 per cent to #32.4 million on #169.1 million turnover.

Novell

Novell has reported net income of $28.9 million for its first quarter ended 31 January, more than double the $14.1 million earned the same period a year ago. Revenue rose 13 per cent to $285.8 million, from $252 million a year ago.

BMC Software

BMC Software's shares fell more than $5 to $41.56 after it restated its 1998 and 1999 figures to reflect a change in the way it wrote off the acquisition of BGS Systems in February last year. The move follows revised rules from the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Intuit

Personal finance software vendor Intuit recorded an 80 per cent increase in earnings for its second quarter ended 31 January. Net income was $89.9 million, up from 41.8 million a year ago, while sales increased 46 per cent to $346 million, from $238 million.

Logica

Logica saw a 67 per cent year-on-year increase in pre-tax profit to #26 million for the six months ended 31 December 1998. Turnover increased 35 per cent to #292 million, on the back of significant growth in the telecoms sector, the vendor said.
