Seagate Technology
Struggling Seagate Technology has reported a further net loss of $128.5 million for its third quarter ended 3 April. Revenue was down 33 per cent to $1.68 billion from $2.5 billion for the same quarter last year.
TSMC
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSMC) has more than doubled first-quarter revenue. Its January to March sales jumped 106.9 per cent from the same period in 1997 to $15.7 billion. The leap was attributed to increased production capacity, a fully-booked production schedule and an exceptionally high yield of usable wafers.
CHS Electronics
CHS Electronics has completed its $200 million private debt offering.
Claudio Osorio, CEO at CHS, also announced commitment to a credit facility of $325 million from Barclays Bank and The Bank of Novia Scotia.
Data General
Data General has warned of an expected loss for its second quarter ended 28 March. Predicted revenue of $360 million will mean a net loss of between 15cent and 50cent per share. Full results will be announced 23 April.
Macro 4
Macro 4's shares have jumped 45p to a three-year high of 420p after it confirmed Terry Kelly, founder and executive chairman, will retire in July. The company is looking for a chief executive and a non-executive chairman.
Micro Focus
Shares in Micro Focus, a programming company, leapt 27.5p to 537.5p last week as it was announced that CEO Martin Waters would return to work in May after undergoing heart bypass surgery.
Unisys
Unisys has announced better-than-expected results for the first quarter ended 31 March. Net income has more than tripled from the same period last year to $62.7 million. Revenue rose 7.1 per cent to $1.65 billion from $1.54 billion.
