SCO
SCO has experienced a 10 per cent increase in sales for the second quarter ended 31 March, achieving turnover of $55.7 million. Net profit stood at $3.8 million, compared with $3.2 million last time.
Xircom
Xircom has reported strong results for its second quarter, but warned that short term revenue growth would be flat and would cause it to miss analysts' expectations for the year. The Belgian PC connectivity vendor reported sales for the quarter ended 31 March of $97.7 million, up 52 per cent on the same period last year. Profit was up slightly on the year earlier, reaching $10.8 million
Network Associates
Network Associates, which last month warned that it would not meet analysts' expectations for the first quarter, said year 2000 and increasing sales cycles would also result in lower revenue for the second quarter of this year. Network Associates will limit distributor orders in the second quarter of 1999 to enable the realignment of the company's inventory at its distributors to be more consistent with revised revenue expectations.
Madge Networks
Madge Networks has seen sales of token rings decline causing a huge loss for its last financial quarter.
It reported a loss of $8.5 million for the three months ended 31 March, compared with a net profit of $2.8 million last year. Revenue for the quarter slumped to $48.8 million, compared with $65.8 million a year earlier.
