Summit hires a cabinet maker
Datrontech's storage distribution arm Summit Peripherals has signed an exclusive deal to carry JMR Electronics' cabinet range in the UK.
JMR is the largest maker of cabinets for computer hardware devices. It has had OEM deals for more than 2,000 products, including cabinets for the music, testing, home audio and military industries.
US-based JMR bought Lion Cabinets, the enclosures manufacturing arm of Leeds-based ITE Group, in early 1996.
Werder Neudecker, Summit MD, is impressed with JMR's range. He said: 'Their financial strength has enabled them to make substantial capital investment in CE equipment, which is important for controlling costs.
Finding a reliable power supply and housing for our wide range of applications has removed a major headache for all concerned.'
Summit is using JMR cabinets for its TASC storage range. It will ship JMR's CD-Rom tower chassis, and is already supplying chassis with removable canisters, including an option for controller housing and intelligent controllers.
