SCC on track for rail project
SCC has fought off competition from 27 other channel players to secure a five-year Network Rail contract
From 1 October, SCC will service Network Rail’s distributed computing and maintain the network of desktop-related infrastructure across the UK. This will include support of end user devices, office moves, local delivery of projects and asset handovers.
The deal will see SCC manage services for over 18,000 users in 1,200 locations, from signal boxes and stations to regional offices.
John Bland, commercial sales director at SCC, told CRN: “We began the bidding process last October. Twenty-eight firms respon-ded to the pre-qualification questionnaire. This win is important as it shows that SCC can take on the big guys.”
Director of information management at Network Rail, Catherine Doran, said: “In selecting SCC, we will be working as one team with drive and commitment.”
A contract for enterprise operations was also awarded to CSC.
