Trend Micro offers Titanium tempter
Reselles to benefit from brand push behind new consumer product
Caroline Hodson: Breaking into the consumer market is tough
Trend Micro is plying its SMB resellers with free licences of Titanium AV to help seed the market for its new consumer brand.
Launched at the start of September, Titanium AV represents the anti-virus giant’s first concerted push into the retail space. The product is already stocked by big names including Currys, Argos and Amazon.
Resellers are being offered a free Titanium licence for every seat they sell of Trend’s Worry-Free Business Security SMB offering. They can use the freebies themselves or offer them to clients.
Caroline Hodson, head of UK channel sales and marketing, said Titanium is 90 per cent cloud based, which makes the product light and quick.
“The consumer landscape has such a predominant market leader in Norton that breaking into it is tough,” she said. “But we have bided our time and waited for Titanium as it is by far our best consumer product.”
Under the promotion, which runs until 8 November, resellers would net £637 worth of free Titanium product on a typical 25-user Worry-Free rollout, Hodson said.
“It is tough out there and anything that helps SMB resellers earn more margin is a good thing,” she added.
