ANS gets top marks at university

Reseller secures Cambridge deal

VAR Active Network Systems (ANS) has won a deal to consolidate the storage systems at the geography department of Cambridge University.

The contract, worth a five-figure sum, came about after the VAR held a seminar on data storage in Cambridge.

“We then sat down with the head of the geography department and worked out what it needed to consolidate its storage systems,” said Andy Ibbotson, managing director of ANS.

“Reldata offered what we needed to avoid locking the university into a particular connection or platform.”

He said the department regularly stores files bigger than 100MB.

Mike Bithell, assistant director of research in computing at the university, said: “The flexibility of the storage management platform Reldata offers us more options for the development of our infrastructure in the future.”
