Spicers unveils reseller training academy
Distributor launches online training academy for resellers
Distributor will provide resellers with modules in PR and marketing, product knowledge and presentation skills
Office products distributor Spicers has launched an online training portal to help boost the business of its reseller partners.
It is called The Spicers Academy and provides resellers with access to 22 training modules covering marketing, product knowledge and presentation skills.
Participants can either choose the modules they wish to cover individually or follow a pre-determined “development stream” that they will be encouraged to complete at their own pace.
Access to the academy’s content will initially be limited to members of the firm’s Synergy partner programme and then made available to the rest of its reseller network from June 2010.
Jane Rowe, marketing and communications director at Spicers UK, said: “It’s really important for us to continually add value to our dealers' businesses and help them to grow. People are at the heart of every business, and focus must be on providing staff with the necessary training and knowledge development.”
Spicers partner Just Office took part in pilot version of the academy, which it claims has led to a 28 per cent increase in the “conversion ratio of prospects to customers".
Andy Unstead, sales director at Just Office, added: “This is directly attributable to the know-how we developed through the Spicers Academy portal.”
