Judge gives MS Java clearance

A US judge ruled that Microsoft was free to distribute Java technologies developed independently from its rival Sun Microsystems. Judge Ronald Whtye said the preliminary injunction he issued to Microsoft late last year does not prevent the software giant from developing its own version of Sun's Java.
