Westcon signs Sipera
Deal will see distributor supply Sipera's IP communications security solutions to partner network
Westcon has signed a global distribution agreement with communications security vendor Sipera Systems.
Under the terms of the deal, Westcon will be Sipera's distributor for its security solutions for real-time IP communications including VoIP, instant messaging, video and multimedia.
Paul Cunningham, vice president of Westcon's technology solutions group, said: "Sipera's comprehensive security solution is a key ingredient in our convergence solution portfolio, especially in end-to-end enterprise IP communications systems."
Sipera also plans to use Westcon's network of security and convergence customers to help increase its worldwide channel presence.
Seshu Madhavapeddy, chief executive of Sipera, said: "This agreement is a key milestone for Sipera as we scale our operations. Sipera IPCS products are ideally suited to Westcon's ConvergencePoint program."
The ConvergencePoint program was launched by Westcon last month and the distributor claimed it would enable its resellers to succeed in the convergence market by allowing them to offer products aimed at helping make businesses more efficient.
Joe O'Donnell, vice president of worldwide sales at Sipera, added: "Sipera is especially excited about being an integral part of Westcon's ConvergencePoint program to help bring its customers the best security solutions currently available for VoIP systems.
"Westcon brings tremendous channels combined with a marketing and support track record that is unmatched in the industry," he said.
