Lexmark cashback boost for VARs

Printer vendor Lexmark hopes to boost its resellers' slow summer sales

Printer vendor Lexmark hopes to boost its resellers’ slow summer sales with a 50 per cent cashback offer.

Until the end of September, end-users will receive 50 per cent of the recommended retail price back from Lexmark on purchases of its E330 and E332n A4 mono laser printers. The vendor will also provide its resellers with web site banners and marketing tools to promote the offer.

Kevin Spinks, SME director at Lexmark, said: “We are propping up resellers’ margins and giving their customers a strong reason to by from them now. All printer vendors are currently going for volume, but we are looking to provide value-add to resellers to help them gain sales.”

Mark Bayliss, product manger for printers and imaging at Lexmark reseller Integrex, said the cashback was also a direct attempt by the vendor to increase its market share. “This may have a positive impact on our margin and we may be able to put the prices up slightly. It may also help to increase volume sales of Lexmark printers due to the cashback,” he said.

Lexmark said the latest offer builds on its 100 per cent Partner Programme – launched in 2002 – and provides resellers with an account manager, deal support, promotions and training. It will also offer resellers up to £50 in Capital Bond vouchers for every sale from its T63x printer range
