365 iT plots buying spree

Newly rebranded VAR group (formerly Impera) is on the lookout for the right acquisitions to fuel growth

On the up: 365 iT Group is looking to grow

VAR group Impera will officially change its name to 365 iT by the summer and is on the hunt for further acquisitions.

The ambitious firm snapped up unified communications specialist 5i last week for an undisclosed sum (Channelweb, 16 April) and last year bought IBM and HP VAR Dynax (CRN, 14 January 2008).

Eddy Alejos, managing director of Dynax, told CRN: “When buying different companies there is a tendency to leave them alone, but this does not maximise the value of getting them all working together under one banner. This is why we have decided to rebrand to 365 iT.”

Alejos said the managing directors of all the different acquired companies will hold the same responsibilities, but the move will mean less customer confusion.

He added that the rebranding would not result in redundancies; in fact, the group has recently added a new financial controller to oversee the changes, and is recruiting other staff.

“The Dynax name will fade into the past by June/July,” Alejos said. “365 iT is always on the lookout for companies that are the right fit. We want to focus on the IT services sector and build the company up modestly through a mix of organic and acquisitive growth.”
