Rebus embarks on UK partner scheme

The Electronic Business division of software and services company Rebus has established its first UK channel partner programme.

The London company is making its first foray into the channel with its Rebus Knowledge Server (RKS), an information management system already established in the insurance market. Rebus is attempting to advance into other niche markets through the channel. Pilot schemes are already running in banking, finance, legal, information systems, marketing and the recruitment sectors.

Richard Mellor, sales director at Rebus Electronic Business, said it was actively seeking corporate Vars and system integrators, especially those that are Microsoft or Oracle certified.

'Back office applications are vital and a huge opportunity for resellers.

Over the next three to four weeks, the first batch of resellers will be announced. Rebus will establish about 50 resellers over the next 12 months,' he said.

Mellor added the programme would soon be launched in the US, but that the UK was the first focus.

He added: 'Rebus has been very successful in the human resource market sectors and, through the channel, we will transfer this success to other sectors. Our programme will enable resellers to differentiate themselves by providing new knowledge management skillsets as well as business benefits.'

David Hall, analyst at Datamonitor, added that information sharing was an area that organisations would focus on to improve efficiency and flexibility. 'Improved internal communication and sharing will boost information dissemination, knowledge and applicability. Providing internet technology support allows functionality expansion at a minimal cost as the internet rapidly evolves,' he said.
