BWise signs deal with Cap Gemini

Dutch business software designer BWise has signed a global alliance with IT consultancy Cap Gemini Ernst & Young (CGEY).

Lawrence Hill, a representative from the UK arm of BWise, maintained that even though CGEY is a stakeholder in BWise, his company was still able to work with competitors. "We are just jolly good friends with CGEY. There is no compulsion on either side," he said. "We are looking at working with PricewaterhouseCoopers or Logica as well."

As part of the initiative to expand its role in the UK channel, BWise is planning to appoint a partner manager for the UK. "There are no resellers in the UK, but it is an area I am reviewing. We are looking for resellers that specialise in business transformation," said Hill.

BWise's product strategy hinges on the fact that when a company seeks to reinvent itself, a lot of data is gathered that subsequently gets lost. According to Hill, BWise software can monitor, test and communicate results in its 'what-if engine' to users via a browser.

He said that the BWise software package acts as an electronic consultant, but does it without the ubiquitous sticky notes. "With our software environment, you can look back on why, how and what you did, so your company is always aware of where it is. Consultants form one kind of relationship we have. In France and Belgium, we have resellers who buy and sell our software and implement it themselves.

"It's just different methods of working with people. In the UK, I think it would be good to have some resellers - people who understand transformation as part of a business - who have the same skill sets as CGEY, but who also have their own companies," he said.
