Peapod willing to shell out for growth
Security VAR reveals it is looking at smaller rivals for acquisition potential
Peapod is aiming to grow both organically and by acquisition to take advantage of a strong security market.
Speaking to CRN, chief executive Chris Durnan said: “Its been over three years since we came out of administration and we have had a very strong quarter indeed. Last year was quite a challenging year with a lot of rationalisation in the industry, but this year boards are beginning to take security compliance issues quite seriously, which is good for business.
“We are also going up the ladder to more enterprise sized clients, particularly in the finance sector and we are working hard to strengthen vendor relationships,” he said.
The privately-owned firm would also look towards acquisition, Durnan said.
“To get where we want to be cannot be done organically. We have to look at acquisition and we are looking at some smaller VARs in the industry,” he added.
He also said the firm would not rule out being acquired if the “right offer at the right price” came along.
