Western Digital wins court case

Western Digital was claiming victory over Amstrad last week when it revealed a Californian jury had found in its favour over allegations that the vendor had sold the UK firm defective drives. Amstrad filed a lawsuit in 1991 seeking about $141 million. Michael Cornelius, vice president of Western Digital, said: 'We have always maintained that the hard drives which Amstrad purchased from Western Digital met the specifications and that any performance problems Amstrad may have experienced were the result of the design and workmanship of its computers.'
