Vamp Agreement Leaves Firstpoint In Robust Health
Third-party maintainer Firstpoint has won a maintenance contract worth #3.5 million with Vamp, Reuters? general practitioners subsidiary.
Firstpoint MD Jim Stoddart confirmed that the company had secured a deal to provide maintenance on hardware and software cover for the wholly owned subsidiary. Vamp is a #25 million turnover operation that has developed a system for general practitioners. ?We are pleased to win this as it is a sizeable contract,? said Stoddart.
He claimed that Firstpoint had managed to put its financial troubles behind it and was now making a profit on a month by month basis. Firstpoint is due to reveal its figures at the end of next month.
Firstpoint has now completely phased out support for AST Advantage home PCs. Stoddart insisted that Firstpoint agreed with AST at Christmas to end the relationship because there was not enough margin. Since the beginning of the year, Firstpoint continued to support AST on a cost plus basis.
