Fenestrae to develop European markets

Firm begins phase one of European market-building exercise

Network mobility software manufacturer Fenestrae is offering UK resellers low-cost entry into the mobile computing arena with phase one of its European market-building exercise.

The company is looking for up to 40 UK resellers for its partner programme and targets both the SME and mid-markets.

"The channel is important to us in helping reach a wide audience to promote the benefits of mobile systems for businesses," said Nick Horslen, vice-president of marketing at Fenestrae.

"Our goal is to grow our business via our partners, while enabling them to open up new revenue streams by adding mobile access to their customers' business applications."

Horslen said the company has a background in the fax and telex space.

"We thought, 'The fax is a device at the end of a network; but why shouldn't this be a personal digital assistant?'"

But Dale Vile, an analyst at Quocirca, said it will be another year or two before markets demand these types of products.

"Mobile data is only just beginning in the corporate sector and the other markets are usually some time behind," he said.
