HP builds upgrade path with StorageWorks update
Vendor claims new additions should prove an "easy sell" for partners
Masterson: New products should provide end users with compelling reasons to upgrade
HP has reinforced its commitment to the channel with the launch of two additions to its StorageWorks range.
The HP StorageWorks P2000 and the P4000 G2 SAN Solutions have been ushered in as respective replacements for the vendor’s SME and enterprise storage offerings.
Richard Masterson, HP StorageWorks country manager, said the new products should be an “easy sell” for the vendor’s partners.
“The capability, performance and price should provide a compelling reason to upgrade their existing systems,” he explained.
Adam Kemp, chief executive of HP Professional Services partner Richardson Eyres, said: “The P4000 is a product you can take into the market that will appeal to new and existing customers.”
HP is planning a StorageWorks Academy event in April for resellers who want to incorporate the products into their portolios, said Michael Law, product manager for HP StorageWorks in the UK and Ireland.
Scott Murphy, HP and Symantec divisional leader at Bell Micro, said the products should represent an "exciting opportunity" for SME and mid-level HP resellers.
He added: “Both products offer a great fit in virtualised server environments by providing affordable high performance storage and excellent levels of availability."
