Vendor kicks off 16-week channel tour this month

Microsoft is hoping to ignite its channel with a 16-week tour this month to flag up opportunities to partners.

The vendor intends to focus on three key areas during its Ignite Sales tour – which starts on 21 February – flexible working, collaborative business and business efficiency. The firm plans to reach 2,000 partners.

VARs that sign up for one of the dates will attend a two-hour seminar outlining the market opportunity and how to best push products.

Karl Noakes, director of channel development at Microsoft, said: “The tour has been developed to address feedback from our partners. It will help partners increase deal sizes while serving customers better.”

Steve Sydee, sales director at VAR Touchstone, welcomed the tour. “A key issue for us is keeping up to speed with as many of Microsoft’s products as possible,” he said.
