Sun distributor Clarity has launched its own finance programme, called iNVEST, which is designed for the reseller community.

Sun distributor Clarity has launched its own finance programme, called iNVEST, which is designed for the reseller community.

The programme is designed to encompass all the business of a reseller, regardless of what percentage is Sun-based.

The whole sale, from initial hardware and software to maintenance and services, is included. The programme incorporates rental, leasing and loaning schemes to encourage the end-user to make a purchase from the reseller, with the help of financial backing from Clarity.

Mark Harding, programme director and finance consultant at Clarity, said iNVEST was innovative because it was not vendor-lead. "Rather than say, 'Here's a financial solution, why not use it?' ours is [the reseller's] own finance programme. They can re-brand it. We will mould the programme around their business."

Although there are many finance programmes in the channel, including Sun's own Sun Microsystems Finance, Harding claimed there is room for Clarity's offering. "SMEs tend to be ignored," he said.
