Ingram partners with Avocent
Deal sees distributor expand its networking services portfolio
Ingram Micro has today signed a distribution agreement with switching and network connectivity vendor Avocent.
Avocent provides connectivity and manageability products that centralise control of servers, serial, environmental and power control.
Bhavesh Patel, commercial director at Ingram said: “This agreement represents the continuing expansion of our Networking Services portfolio and will provide our growing customer base of networking resellers with a first-class infrastructure management solution designed to support their customers’ needs."

In January, Avocent annnounced that it had signed a definitive agreement to acquire rival Cyclades for a total cash purchase price of approximately $90m, plus the assumption of liabilities and payment of certain transaction costs. The acquisition is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2006.
