EGain hopes to make waves

CRM software vendor is keen to widen its UK channel footprint by leveraging Cisco OEM partnership

After announcing its first Irish partner, CRM software vendor eGain is hoping its relationship with Cisco will enable it to make a splash in the UK channel.

The vendor, which has global revenues of about $30m, has an OEM agreement with the networking behemoth whereby eGain’s technology is incorporated into Cisco’s Unified Contact Centre software suites. Andrew Mennie, eGain’s EMEA general manager, told CRN: “A relationship with Cisco creates a breadth of opportunity. There will be other channel activities but Cisco is the best starting point,” he said.

Mennie claimed he was initially only looking for a handful of UK resellers. “It does not help to have 100 partners if only five are making any money,” he said.

VAR PlanNet21 was recently announced as eGain’s first Irish reseller and Mennie said: “It is a Cisco partner and we were talking to it around a number of opportunities. We also made it aware of the opportunity around eGain.”
