CPS CRACKDOWN
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) is to crack down on IT-related crime following a directive from David Calvert-Smith, the director of public prosecutions. The announcement came at the first CPS computer and Net crime conference held on 18 June.
Baljit Ubhey, a lawyer for the CPS said: 'The CPS has raised its profile recently in the area of hi-tech crime. Liaison with outside agencies and government departments on legal issues surrounding computer crime has strengthened.'
