Insight to be iAssist reseller

Computer Associates and iRevolution combine to produce iAssist

Software vendor Computer Associates (CA) and managed services provider iRevolution have signed Insight as the first UK reseller for their combined SME server monitoring service iASSIST.

Insight will rebrand the product, which guards against server downtime, as Monitor-IT. The service brings together CA’s Unicenter Agent and iRevolution’s Network Oper-ations Centre.

The two vendors confirmed that more resellers are due to sign up to the service in the near future.

Amy Mathias, marketing manager at iRevolution, said: “We are looking for resellers in a select number of countries and we hope to get between five and 10 in the UK as soon as possible.”

Mathias said CA and iRevolution were keen to work with Insight due to its direct model and large customer base. “Resellers are a key part of our business model as we think it is the reseller model that makes the most business sense,” she said.

Steven Leicester, product manager at Insight UK, said: “This is an opportunity to provide our clients with a high-level monitoring service at a price which the SME market can afford. Such services until now have, due to high-pricing, only been available to large scale corporate firms.”

Leicester claimed a number of businesses suffer from server downtime problems and some never recover. He said the previously neglected SME space can be filled by the new service.

“The Monitor-IT service will offer our clients peace of mind. The service will lead to a reduction in costly downtime, which our customers can ill afford to have,” he claimed.
