Secure completes its UK distribution line-up
Vendor also launches its first SnapGear products since its acquisition of CyberGuard
Secure Computing has selected its final two UK distributors to supply selected product lines.
Telocator will supply WebWasher and SmartFilter, while Interquad will supply SafeWord for Citrix.
The move comes after the vendor decided to cut its distribution channel from nine to four, following its merger with CyberGuard (CRN, 27 March). Last month Secure Computing announced it will work with Sphinx and Bell Microproducts Europe to supply its entire product range.
Andrew Philpott, vice-president of European sales at Secure Computing, said: “Telocater has done a good job on building the education and local government markets, and Interquad is strong in the Citrix market. We have our final line-up of UK distributors.”
Sean Fane, managing director of InterQuad, said: “We have been a partner of Secure Computing’s for about a year, and we have developed business for it in a specific market. Our intention is to take on as broad a range of products as it feels appropriate. We are keen to keep putting resources into selling Secure’s products.”
Separately, Secure Computing launched its first SnapGear products since its acquisition of CyberGuard.
Aimed specifically at the SME market, the SnapGear appliance portfolio will allow channel partners to offer an enterprise-class product without the complexity, Philpott claimed.
“This will give the channel a new opportunity to sell Secure’s products to their SME customer base. It is our first major launch since the merger was completed,” he said.
Duncan Hume, manager of the security division at Bell Microproducts Europe said: “This release validates Secure’s acquisition of CyberGuard and gives us access to a lucrative market.”
