System builder Elonex finally sold

Integrator is acquired after weeks of speculation

Troubled system builder Elonex has been sold for an undisclosed sum to consumables supplier Applied Film Industries Company (AFIC), as predicted by CRN this week (CRN, 03 July 2006).

The sale includes the business and assets, the use of the Elonex name, and will secure on-going employment for the remaining workforce of 48 employees.

Neville Kahn, an administrator at Deloitte and Touche, said: “Conclusion of this sale provides an excellent platform for the business and the workforce to prosper in the future. The workforce in particular has maintained support for the Administration throughout this very uncertain time and this has been an important element in securing the successful sale of the business.”
