VIP unveils new Microsoft microsite

Distributor promises new version is an improvement on the original microsite it launched one-and-a-half years ago

Mark Lynch: We have added new features to the site

Distributor VIP Computer Centre has revamped its Microsoft microsite in a bid to boost the sales of its system builder and retail partners.

The VIP Microsoft Microsite was first created in April 2007 three months after VIP went live as an Authorised Microsoft OEM Distributor (Channelweb, 13 April, 2007).

A year-and-a-half later, the components and peripherals distributor has launched a new version of the site (click here for link), which it said would provide a one-stop-shop around Microsoft stock for system builders and retailers.

A new sales tool section offers resources to help identify potential cross-sell and up-sell opportunities. Other functions of the microsite include identifying and creating sales leads, frequently asked questions and demonstrations.

Mark Lynch, Microsoft product manager at VIP, promised users would enjoy a better experience from the site than its predecessor.

“We have also added some new features, such as downloadable POS, better product info and details of the Microsoft partner programme, which we believe will help our resellers drive their own Microsoft sales,” he added.

Joanne Meredith, VIP marketing manager, claimed that the new site was based on reseller feedback.

“We have listened to their feedback to deliver a user-friendly site, with up-to-date information and downloadable sales tools. The microsite is an invaluable resource and enables our customers to access the very latest information, to make margin on sales of Microsoft software and hardware products,” he said.
