Ramsac uses Citrix to achieve IT consolidation contract
IT consultancy firm Ramsac has completed the initial phase of an IT infrastructure consolidation contract
IT consultancy firm Ramsac has completed the initial phase of an IT infrastructure consolidation contract at recruitment firm Bucks and Berks.
The first phase of the roll-out ran for four months and involved a consolidation of the Thames Valley-based firm’s five geographically disparate networks into a single secure data centre, using Citrix technology.
In the second phase Ramsac will focus on providing ongoing IT infrastructure management and consult-ancy time to around 90 staff through both telephone-based support and once-weekly onsite technical and business level support.
Peter Hamilton, company secretary at Bucks and Berks, said Ramsac was awarded the contract following a competitive tender process. “The key to offering clients exceptional service is the effective management of information. Delegating these IT requirements to Ramsac gives us the time to deal with our core business,” he said.
The initial infrastructure roll-out also included procurement and installation of new hardware, such as desktop computers and software upgrades, as well as changes to the main database, email systems, accounts packages, and various security elements.
Dan May, operations director at Ramsac, said: “We won the contract because we spent the time to understand the business and our salespeople are actually experienced network consultants. This is proof we can deliver,” he claimed.
