Ingram administers cash injection
Broadliner reacts to need for credit in the market by making an extra £8m available
Distribution giant Ingram Micro has freed up a further £8m credit for its SME resellers to keep the channel cash flowing.
The firm’s Credit Builder scheme was initially launched at the end of 2008 in response to the growing problem of credit insurance withdrawal in the market.
Ingram has spent the past six months running an email and telemarketing campaign, reaching out to 2,500 SME channel accounts offering a credit limit of between £3,000 and £40,000 [subject to terms and conditions]. So far this has resulted in an extra £2.5m of credit being taken up by more than 400 resellers.
It recently extended the scheme again in July, to boost the total credit available by a further £8m.
Cathi Low, value business director at Ingram, said: “SME is a significant and valued part of our business. It is vital to keep credit flowing and as importantly Ingram is recognising customer loyalty.
“As VARs on the programme continue to spend and use the available credit, the headroom increases.”
