Web-to-host connectivity specialist JSB Software Technologies will venture into the application service provider (ASP) market with the launch of a new product, MultiView Catalyst, and incentives for its VARs to become ASPs.
JSB, which has 300 partners, has already begun talking to its VARs about various opportunities in the ASP market, according to Nick Outteridge, JSB managing director.
He said the launch of MultiView Catalyst was vital in helping VARs establish themselves in the emerging ASP arena.
Outteridge claimed MultiView Catalyst was ideal for ASPs because it delivers Unix applications to customer Web browsers, without the need for pre-installed client software. He said it also centralises administration and licensing of user rights and remote sessions.
"All of JSB's partners know there is more than one way to skin a cat. A customer who wants to leverage Unix applications on the Web can now be offered several options in order to reach that goal," he said.
Outteridge added that every JSB partner is "looking at the ASP market as another avenue for service revenue".
Later in the year, the company expects to offer flexible rental licensing and connect time to make it easier for ASPs to use the new product.
MultiView Catalyst will begin shipping on 22 February.
