2e2 keen to woo Morse customers

Intergrator targets new acquisition's customer base with higher end services

Terry Burt: Morse is a long-established brand, but its customers have not seen many new offerings

Integrator 2e2 has claimed it can offer Morse customers a greater array of technology after completing its £69.8m acquisition of its rival.

2e2 chief executive Terry Burt told ChannelWeb that Morse would bring it new skills in areas such as SAP consulting, flexible resourcing and the datacentre. But he also claimed that Morse’s client base would be looking for more from the enlarged company.

“Morse is a long-established brand, but its customers have not seen many new offerings. It did not have a networking or managed services capability. We want to ensure customers are comfortable with the change [of ownership] and then make more offerings available to them.

“We hope to become a much more important supplier to them and a bit more strategic.”

The deal will transform 2e2 into a £400m giant, but Burt said this would not come at the expense of customer intimacy.

“That’s the bit we are going to be careful not to lose through the integration period,” he said.

Full integration of Morse will not begin until January, Burt revealed, giving 2e2
six months to assess what it has acquired.

“We have had excellent co-operation from Morse management, but now we need to fully understand exactly what we have gained access to,” he said.
