Luxtech lines up first acquisition

Convergence VAR hints at plans to expand into the Midlands

Convergence VAR Luxtech is close to making its first acquisition since it bought Apple specialist Topology UK last June.

Luxtech currently only works within the M25, but managing director Russell Lux hinted the firm is poised to spread into the Midlands.

“We’re looking to announce something substantial by the end of September,” he revealed. “We’ll probably go to Birmingham and expand from there.”

Lux said the reseller is keen to add skills around its four core vendors: Avaya, Swyx, Microsoft and Hewlett-Packard. “We’re also trying to get into the Citrix market,” he added. “We’re looking for either telecoms service providers or IT service providers working in managed services.”

David Pitts, UK sales director at Swyx, said Luxtech was one of its top five UK partners.

“Luxtech is very technically competent and has the ability to deploy multiple technologies,” he said.
